Main directions of work:
History
The library was founded in 1945. The first librarians from 1945 to 1950 were V.S.Yurkevich, M.I.Voitiuk, G.M.Nisnevich, V.V.Tsuranova. From 1950 to 1978 the library was headed by A.I.Zhgunovskaya.
Until August, 1951 the library fund had been situated in an attic and comprised 1200 copies of books and journals. Library readers were 130 physicians.
From August, 1951 to February, 1973 the library fund with a reading room were situated in 2 rooms of the dorm.
In 1973 the library fund comprised 44000 copies. The library was visited by 1400 readers. After academic and laboratory building had been built the library got new special premises with a reading hall, a day room and a library stack with a total area of more than 500м2.
From 1978 to 2004 the library was headed by V.G.Biriucheva. A.P.Posledovich, Z.G.Mikhalchina, G.M.Romashko contributed greatly into work of the library. From 2005 to 2014 the library was headed by A.A.Kolbasko, O.E.Verstak, A.N.Smetanina.
Annually, the library is visited by 4.000 of medical specialists. A reading hall, a computer class with Internet connection (Wi-Fi) are available for specialists with medical education.
