In 1974 there had been created a Scientific Department, which in 2000 was reorganized into the Department of Scientific and Medical Information.

Directions of work:

• organizational and methodological and information support of scientific work of BelMAPE;
• state registration of scientific tasks at state register;
• coordination of expert and innovation activities in scientific work.

Functions of the department:

• scientific and organizational support of scientific tasks in the frameworks of scientific research programs implemented in BelMAPE
• collection, analysis, systematization and storage of scientific and knowledge resources
• methodology and consulting assistance in making application and planning documents, reports related to scientific work
• regulatory compliance verification of reports and application documents in accordance with current standards
• organization of scientific, scientific and technical activities and expositions of the Academy
• organization of meetings of Scientific and Technical Board
• information support of result implementation of scientific and research works
• organization and coordination of expert and implementation activities of structural subdivisions of BelMAPE
